MESSAGE FROM REV. JEREMIAH THOMAS

                             PASTOR IN - CHARGE,
                             TMC PENANG

Glory to God for what the Lord has done in the Tamil Methodist Church Penang for the past 125 years.
It is purely God’s grace that this is the first Tamil Methodist Church to celebrate its 125th anniversary in Malay-
sia. The establishment of this church in all these years shows His glory and greatness. Praise be to God!

38 Pastors have worked hard to build this church according to His will before me. All of them have
played a vital role to lead the congregation of TMC Penang to seek the Cornerstone of TMC Penang in
humility. Nevertheless, I am humbled to take this opportunity to commend these pastors and their families for
their services, contributions and sacrifices to glorify God. A job well done God-fearing shepherds! In addition,
I would like to also commend the past and the present leadership and members of TMC Penang who toiled
together to build the Kingdom of God in TMC Penang.

As we celebrate this anniversary, let us ponder on the glory of God.

Psalm 72:19 is a prayer of David. He prayed for the glory of God to fill the earth. King Solomon’s king-
dom had its share of glory but the glory of God did not last in that kingdom nor the temple built by Solomon.
However, the glory of God remained in Jesus during his lifetime on the earth. Due to that, many miracles took
place and people’s life were changed forever. Moses had remarkable experiences with the glory of God. The
first experience was in the burning bush (Exodus 3:1-5) which continued to the camp and the tabernacle
(Exodus 40:34 - 35). The glory of God is a must in our lives and a life without it is utterly meaningless.

Dear servants of TMC Penang, as we celebrate this memorable occasion, let us continue to pray for
the glory of God to not only fill the celebration but most importantly our lives with Christ Jesus. Let pray fervent-
ly that we will always be filled with the glory of God.

Micah 6:8 shows the requirement of God of the people of Israel. He wants them to humble themselves
before Him. This humility shows their complete dependence on Him. This is a very natural thing, the first duty
and the highest virtue of creatures, and the root of every virtue. Jesus had these virtues (Zechariah 9:9). Dear
saints of TMC Penang, we are called to live in humility by completely depending on Him. So, let us humble
ourselves as the disciples of Jesus before the Lord Almighty.

Let us seek His glory in humility. Let us arise and revive ourselves by seeking the glory of God as we
celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the church.

As written in Philippians 2:10 - 11, It is our (mine, my wife Vani and children, Julia & Jabez) prayer that
TMC Penang’s knees bow down before the Name of Jesus to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Lord of this
church. Let us never forget that in all circumstances. Glory to God alone!

      In HIS Glorious Service
      Rev Jeremiah Thomas
      Pastor In-Charge
      Tamil Methodist Church Penang.
