Candi Dukuh is a stone temple situated on top of the hilly area
at the edge of Rawa Pening. It lies on top of a hill and there is a gate
at its entrance at the bottom of the hill and dozens of ascending steps
leading toward Candi Dukuh. People living in the area believe that
Candi Dukuh is closely related to the escape of King Brawijaya V
who wanted to avoid war with his son Raden Patah, the ruler of the
Islamic Kingdom of Demak. Therefore, Candi Dukuh is also called
Candi Brawijaya by the locals.
