As the Needs of Yavapai County’s
Children Grow, So Does Our Mission
“ YBBBS is celebrating its 50th year of existence here in Yavapai County with an extraordinary legacy of changing
lives, one child at a time. Your value in the lives of our children is all the more important during these unprecedented
times. The circumstances that are driving us apart physically are the very reasons our children need you.
Domestic violence and substance abuse escalate as our residents have fewer social outlets and are spending more
time together in confined spaces. For our Littles, having a Big who is there for them makes a tremendous impact,
even though not face-to-face. Your mentoring means our Littles do not have to face these challenges alone. The
virus is creating new ways for you and your Little to connect while respecting the boundaries to keep you safe. We
are all struggling with these new boundaries and I am grateful for BBBS. Without the continued and consistent
mentoring from you, many of our Littles would stumble or fall into adversity gaps. I urge you to continue your
important work of building positive relationships that help our Littles build confidence and resilience. They need you
now, more than ever, and I am so thankful you are there for them.”
