David Jones (St A 55) retired from construction engineering some 20 years ago. He has been married to Barbara since 1961 and they have two daughters, four grandsons and two great-grandsons. He has just sold his yacht, a Rival 38, after 40 years of ownership, in which they have cruised most of the North Atlantic seaboard.
Nick Atkins (C 99) continues to live in Godalming with his wife, Neelum, and daughters Anjali (6) and Priyanka (4). Nick regularly sees Kate Robinson (W 93) and her family, as Anjali and Kate’s son, Joshua, are good friends through prep school. Nick stays in regular contact with Max Desoutter (Lx 99), David Nicholson (Lx 99), James Morton- Haworth (C 99), Roddie Larman (C 99), Will Dean (Sn 99) and Ollie Chipp (Sn 99). Nick is enjoying his third year as a partner in mergers and acquisitions at Guildford law firm Stevens & Bolton, where he heads up their entrepreneurs practice group.
David Habershon (Ldr 68) much enjoyed helping to celebrate the Troubleshooters’ 50th anniversary
Thirty-two Oundelians have declared their service in the military, although I suspect the true figure is somewhat larger. Twenty-five run around on land, six serve at sea and only one graces the skies. Nevertheless, the contribution to UK Defence remains as impressive as ever. OOs are populating senior staff and command roles across the Armed Forces, and have been deployed across the globe on major multinational exercises and operations. At the bottom end, the flow of recruits into Sandhurst in particular remains steady. I would ask anyone aspiring to join or who has joined recently to get in contact. It is no exaggeration to say that every major military mission in the foreseeable future will have the OO stamp on it somewhere.
celebrations at Oundle on 11th May. There was an excellent turnout of former School shooters of all generations, with a match at Elmington Range in the afternoon, followed by dinner in the Laxton Long Room. The previous evening Richard Beeby (Lx 68), founder of the OO Rifle Club in 1969, had generously hosted many of his contemporaries at his Nottinghamshire farm, thus contributing to a memorable weekend. David is hugely grateful to Giles Pepperell (Lx 82) for his help organising the dinner, which amongst others was attended by the School Head and President of the OO Club.
Suzanne Korff (K 00) is still enjoying life after London in the New Forest and making the most of having both the National Park and beaches nearby. She and husband Alexander are parents to Maximilian (5) and Audrey (2), and also have a 10-month-old Newfoundland puppy called Keats. Suzanne is still Director of Marketing at Princess Cruises, which enables her to continue exploring many parts of the world.
I have retired from ‘clubland’ for the time being and now enjoy singing in choirs, namely at Nutfield Parish Church in Surrey and Boldre Parish Church in the New Forest when visiting my daughter Suzanne’s (see above) family. I also sing with Choral Holidays in Bolton Priory and Milton Abbey, as well as with the choir Cantemus Cum Spiritu in Portsmouth, Leicester and St Albans Cathedrals. I also play the organ, but very badly and attend a number of recitals and lectures as an observer! I remain a Liveryman in the Honourable Company of Air Pilots and look forward to the annual trophy and awards ceremony at the Guildhall. My wife, Marianne, continues to work in accounts with Travelopia, while my son, David Owen (F 03), is Senior First Officer with Etihad, flying the A380, and lives in Abu Dhabi. His destinations include London, so it is good to greet him from time to time.
Thank you all for the news and photographs. Looking forward to the West Sussex Dinner on 6th November!

THE OLD OUNDELIAN 2018 –2019
From the senior service, Brig Matt Jackson DSO (G 90) took over as the Commander of 3 Commando Brigade in December 2018, after handing over his responsibilities as AD Warfare on the Higher Command and Staff Course to Cdre Mike Walliker (D 82), who retires from the Royal Navy in January 2020. Since then Matt has been busy with preparations for, and deployment on, Exercise Baltic Protector, a Joint Expeditionary Force (Maritime) deployment that had approximately 4,000 personnel embarked in over 44 ships from nine different nations. Matt was embarked in the UK's 'flagship', HMS Albion, as the Commander Landing Forces. To date, the force has conducted exercises in Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania and
