www across 14 campuses in the city. While I loved my time in China, I missed teaching and moved back to England in September 2018. I completed a PGCE in Secondary History Teaching at the UCL Institute of Education in June and while it had its challenges, I enjoyed every minute of it. I started teaching History full time at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Hammersmith in September and am planning to start an after-school Mandarin programme for students. I am keen to move back to China in 2020 to teach History in an international school.

Philippa Burnham: When I left Oundle, I took a gap year and spent it doing a ski season in Meribel, France, before travelling around India with a friend. I then studied Psychology at Exeter University. I really enjoyed university and throughout my time there I was an active member of the boat club, captaining the senior squad for my last year. Following university, I spent a year rowing full time and working as a part-time teaching assistant in Exeter. During that year I went through the British Rowing trials process and moved to Henley to row from Caversham as part of the GB development squad. This was an amazing experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. I then moved to Cambridge for a year to complete my PGCE in Primary Education. I subsequently taught in South London for two years, during which time I completed my master’s in Education at Cambridge University. I have now moved to York and am enjoying teaching in a new school, where I have taken on the role of Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENCO) alongside being a classroom teacher. I thoroughly enjoy my job, I love how varied it is and how amazing all the children are that I get to work alongside.
Elizabeth Humphries: I did a degree in Biomedical Science at Durham University, where I met my husband. After graduating, I moved back to
William Ritchie: I run a venture- backed technology start-up, Chosen AI, that I founded to help large enterprises unlock the potential of their people. I live in East Dulwich, London, and enjoy riding bikes and climbing mountains in my spare time. After Oundle I studied Social Sciences at Durham University. I subsequently spent three years in investment banking in London with Jefferies International, before moving to Berlin to launch Joblift, a successful recruitment-technology business.
Henry Rylands: After Oundle I spent a year in Africa with Dom Krempels (L 09), hitchhiking across East Africa and for the first and last time attended the football World Cup! I read English Literature at Manchester and continued to fall in love with lots of lovely straight men, before moving to London and discovering Soho. Thank God! I am still writing, which is my real passion, and have started my own production company and written a number of scripts. I am feeling as hard done by as every other creative person in London, but wouldn’t change it for the world.

Norwich, where I am currently working as a microbiologist at the hospital.
Sophie McGregor: After Oundle I took a year out to study cookery and worked as a chalet cook/host in the French Alps, before travelling to North America. I returned to do a master’s in Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh whilst also working as a chef for private fishing and shooting lodges. I started working for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies whilst at university and graduated in 2014 to take a job in private wealth management with Barclays PLC in London. I managed to juggle this with part-time work for a number of start-ups in the FMCG sector, holding various roles from brand development to sales and marketing. In summer 2017 I left the corporate world to co-found my own business, Griddle, and after a year of product development and market research, I
started trading in Q4 2018. Anna Mackenzie (D 07) and Lucy Wright (D 07) have been a huge support, lending invaluable guidance and advice from their experience within the food industry. I have honestly been overwhelmed by their generosity to give me so much of their time. I have since left London to move to Bristol and Griddle has just completed a £100,000 raise to rebrand and increase distribution this year. So, hopefully there will be a good few months ahead!
Marion Miles: After finishing Oundle, I spent several months working in London, followed by six months in South America volunteering and travelling. I then headed to Bristol University, graduating in 2013 with a degree in Geography. That September I joined the Nestlé marketing graduate scheme, working for their confectionery business in York. I have been there since and worked across numerous
