The beginning to life as a regular
A - draw with Leicester City at the start of the season won’t be best remembered by the fans, only really for us missing chances to win the game – but hear us out!
It was the rst start of the / season in the Premier League for Lewis and it looked as though his learning process from the previous season had well and truly sunk in.
He bossed the game from start to nish, winning man of the match in a physical battle against serial Europa League winner Vincente Iborra and powerhouse Wilfred Ndidi.
If the Middlesbrough game the season before opened supporters’ eyes to Lewis’ potential, this one de nitely made them stand up and take notice.
It was the start of a remarkable season for Lewis who would then go on to break into the team as a -year-old and keep his place for the campaign.

Simply an historic day for the football club! Lewis became the rst ever serving AFC Bournemouth player to make his full
international debut for England.
It looked like the mid elder wasn’t going to come on as he warmed up on the touchline at the famous Wembley Stadium, with plenty of established internationals and Premier League talents surrounding him.
But with minutes to go, Gareth Southgate beckoned for Cook and wanted him to play a part against a strong Italy side.
In a tight game, which Jamie Vardy had given the Three Lions the lead in, Cook replaced Jesse Lingard and did not look out of place against the
likes of Jorginho, Lorenzo Insigne and Marco Parolo.
The game nished in a - draw as the Azzurri scored late on, but the result was insigni cant as Lewis’ hard work over the season earned him one of the highest honours in football.
