• Sort through the Review Decks and retire the following cards children know very well:
Letter Deck: gn, kn, wr
Picture Deck: cards that match retired letter cards
• Have available one sheet of scrap paper and one sheet of handwriting paper per child.
• Add blue cards 312–319, red cards 108–110, purple cards 108–110, and green cards 123–126 to the Kid Card Decks.
Play Twenty Questions. Have children write the alphabet on scrap paper and cross out letters as they are eliminated.

Lesson Warm-Up
Language/Alphabet Activity
Objective: To practice letter names
• Children should be seated at their desks. Pass out a piece of scrap
paper to each child.
“Let’s play Twenty Questions again today. You’ll have to ask some really smart questions if you want to win.”
• Have each child write the alphabet on a piece of paper.
• Designate a place to keep score on the board, and select a letter.
“Okay, I am ready. Who has the first question?”
• Children should cross out the letters on their papers as they are eliminated by children’s questions.
