ISRAEL UPDATE FOR '93/94

In September of this year, the Zola Levitt Presents program,
under the direction of our producer, Ken Berg, took its TV team
to Israel once again, in order to record for our viewers the
exciting events that are transpiring in the Promised Land and in
Jerusalem, the city of the Great King.

We were not disappointed in the results. Just before we left
the U.S., we were treated to the remarkable television spectacle
of the signing of the Israel-PLO Agreement on the White House
Lawn. For many months, we were told, the principals had been
secretly meeting in a secluded "safe house" in Norway, hammer­
ing out this accord. It purported to allow autonomy for the
Palestinians while at the same time assuring Israel of its much
sought-after security.

Who would have thought, even a few days before, that we
would have seen in our lifetime Prime Minister Rabin and Yasser
Arafat on the same platform, signing an agreement, speaking of
peace, and shaking hands with one another? Such is the world
we are living in today, with momentous twists and turns
occurring on the world scene, sometimes with very little
warning.

Naturally, we were intrigued over the potential impact of the
new peace treaty on Israel and the Middle East. Was it good or
bad for Israel? How do the Jews and Arabs feel about it? How
does such an accord relate to Biblical prophecy? All of these
questions were coursing through our minds as we flew over the
Atlantic, Europe and the Mediterranean on our mission to Israel.

When we got to Israel, we discovered there were important
developments taking place in at least three areas of interest to
our viewers: in the realm of Bible prophecy, in the ever-
fascinating field of Bible archaeology, and in the ecclesiastical
phenomenon of our century, the revival of the Israeli Church.

In this update and in the TV programs, we will endeavor to
inform you, our readers and viewers, about these significant
things that are happening in our time, as we observed them in
Israel, the center of the earth.
