AVENGE ME OF MY ADVERSARY
Let me caution that although the requirement of faith is standard for all prayers to God, the reference to it here is special. Jesus was saying that the lack of faith will hinder the move of God to execute vengeance on our behalf. His reference seems to suggest that it is particularly important to ensure that we build our faith up ahead of cases where we demand vengeance from God in our prayers.
Perhaps the reason is that as much as God is a God of justice and desires to execute it, He is also a merciful God. He is long-suffering, meaning that He gives time for the offender to repent, and is not quick to destroy. We need faith that remains on key, able to stay through as long as it would take God to move on our behalf. We need faith that would never give up until it experiences the vengeance of God against the adversary.
Hope you got something of value for the discourse in this chapter. Whenever you are being oppressed, be assured that it is time to approach God in a prayer of faith. God has execution of justice as one of His top priorities, and you can be sure of prompt answer to your prayer.
