 AVENGE ME OF MY ADVERSARY
When we seek God’s intervening hand in our precarious situations, it is important that we reexamine our lives to ensure that we are not dealing a ‘strong hand’ to others as well. Remember that if we regard iniquity in our heart, the Lord will not hear us (Psalm 66:18).
We should learn from the example outlined in detail in Isaiah 58. It helps to confirm to us how to obtain results when we give everything in prayer. These people actually fasted and prayed, wondering why despite all of their efforts, God’s heart had not been toughed. It wasn’t that they were asking amiss but they were asking God to do for them what they weren’t doing for others. As much as God desires to execute vengeance on our behalf, we must ensure that we are not acting as an adversary to some other person or people.
Vengeance is His!
Psalm 94:1-2 NKJV
O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongs— O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth! [2] Rise up, O Judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud.
