The truth is that God has not changed and He will not change. He remains the same yesterday, today and forever. The prayers of Jesus were different, focusing always on the things that touch the heart of God deeply and nothing else. Nothing made it to His prayer alter as an issue of concern that was not a priority to the heart of God.
As we can see here, He was very passionate about the inheritance of God that was committed into His hands. He was not asking anything here for Himself but was asking for what mattered most for the people for whom He had responsibility. That is their spiritual wellbeing!
The Danger of the Influence of the World
The influence of the world represents a great, present and continuing danger faced by every believer, as long as they remain in this world. Jesus knew that it was not practical to ask God to take believers away from the world and so it became necessary to ensure that they were secured from the danger that the world portends for them.
