BULLSEYE PRAYERS
through prayer, He would not have bothered to pray about it. But He understood that it takes the help of God, secured through prayer, to form the nature of God in us.
We can understand why Paul prayed in the following manner therefore, for his children in the Lord, and that applies to us all even till date:
Ephesians 3:14-19 NKJV
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, [15] from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, [16] that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, [17] that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, [18] may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— [19] to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Paul prayed essentially the same prayer that Jesus prayed, albeit with some emphasis. He was explanatory in His approach to this prayer that the love of God be formed in us. He prayed that each of us should be rooted and grounded in the love of Christ, and that we should know it beyond the scope of natural knowledge.
