BULLSEYE PRAYERS
The truth about these definitions is that love comprises all the eight other attributes of the fruit of the Spirit. Remember that love is said to be the greatest in comparison with faith and hope. It is because love comprises both faith and hope whereas that is not the case vice versa. To be in love therefore, is also to feature simultaneously in our character, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
This is what Jesus prayed that the father should put in us!
Jesus lived a life characterised by the love of God for Him and His love for God. He kept all the commandments and the word of God, His motivation always being to do the will of the Father. Nothing else mattered to Him. He was consumed by the zeal of the house of the Lord, and that really refers to the love of God in His heart that moves Him to pursue only the interests of God.
He came to make us into the same likeness as Himself that was fashioned after the likeness of the Father. If He did not succeed to produce the love of God in His disciples, and did not do God’s will at all times, he would not have been considered successful.
