The Man In Love
orphans. It is clear from John 15:1-2,7 and Galatians 5:22 that the Holy Spirit is the parent who produces in us the fruit that makes us an attraction to the Father. The Holy Spirit replaced Jesus as our parents and produces the fruit of love in us.
When husbands extend the same love to their wives, their home becomes and embodiment of the love of Christ. This love, according to Christ’s commandment to love one another, is then naturally extended to their children. The commandment for husbands to love therefore produces loving parents just as Jesus was a loving parent to us. The quality of parental care offered to children where the husbands love their wives would be very high because they are benchmarked to the love of Christ toward the church. It is the love that makes children into sons, and makes sons into husbands after the heart of Christ.
To Bring Out The Best In The Wife
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, ......, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
