The Man In Love
To Be Better And Increase In Strength
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
In providing for a wife to a man, God intended to enhance the status of the man just as well as the woman. We earlier talked about how the woman stands to be transformed by coming into the house of the man. The man also stands to be a major beneficiary from the addition to him. The scripture above says two are better than one. It says woe unto the man who is alone and has none to help him when he falls. With two, loneliness would disappear, warmth would be assured and strength would multiply. However, all these are potential benefits of the husband and wife coming together. The prospects for realizing these desirable potentials lies in Amos 3:3 that asks,
Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?
