The Man In Love
about walking in the love of Christ toward our wives, we will not joke with the Holy Spirit in our lives. No husband can love his wife as Christ demands without having in him the Holy Spirit and indeed, walking actively with Him.
These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:13-16
The love that God commanded is not natural but spiritual in nature. That is why the clarification was made clearly that husbands ought to love their wives as Christ loved the church. Christ’s love for the church was spiritual and not natural. Based on the above scripture, only the spiritual man can operate in spiritual love toward his wife. It takes the Holy Spirit to access the spiritual things of God. The natural man cannot access spiritual love because they are foolishness to him. With the Spirit of God in us,
