everywhere despite the fact that the Spirit of God hovered over the face of the earth. Everything remained stagnant and unattractive until the word of God was spoken into the situation. The Spirit of God sprang to life on the back of the release of God’s word and light came into being! Such is the importance of the word of God to the functioning of the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God will remain in us, waiting for the word to be put in us so that He can spring into action. We starve the Spirit of God inside us and make Him redundant when we do not feed our hearts with the word of God.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Joshua 1:8
Without the word Joshua 1:8 makes it certain that we cannot prosper in the Christian walk neither can we have good success. To prosper in the walk is love one another as Christ has loved us. To have good success is to ultimately become like Christ. It takes having the word in our hearts and mouth to achieve these heavenly expectations. It is the Spirit of God that helps us to
