4. Christ Taught Us To Focus On Fruit
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
John 15:4
Jesus also taught us to focus on what is most important to His Father. Pleasing His Father is the ultimate of our love for our wives. Jesus emphasized that we must abide in Him so that we can bear fruit and the fruit we bear will please and glorify His Father. John 15:8 says that the God the Father is glorified when we bear much fruit. Drawing our attention to the area of priority and not wishing that our labour be in vain, Jesus expressed love toward us.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
