right and left hands respectively in heaven, He equally chastised them. He noted that their request was improper and out of line. He then explained what they should focus on instead of what they were asking for.
There will obviously be times when we may need to chastise our wives. While they should be few and far between like it was with Jesus and His church, such times should focus on setting our wives on the right path. They are not really meant to be punishment for wrongdoing. Husbands must not chastise their wives so harshly as to disgrace them in public. It is not right to do so also in front of the children in the privacy of their homes. It matters a lot how such situations are handled. When handled with wisdom and the right motivation is in place, it will produce benefits in the lives of our wives and by implication, bring husbands benefits as well.
