The Man In Love
that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
Ephesians 4:1-16
We learn a great deal about the essence of the coming together of the husband and the wife to become one flesh rule by love from studying Ephesians 4:1-16. Let us explore a few fundamental insights from these scriptures here for our added benefit.
From verse 1 of the scripture, under the new union and in order to ensure that it purpose is attained, each of the two main parties is required not only to abide in the calling to which they have been called but to walk worthy of it. That is, husbands must ensure that they truly walk in love with the commitment to get results from so doing while the wives are also to commit themselves to submit to their husbands, being resolute in their resolve to appropriate the promised benefits.
