The Man In Love
abide in the calling to which he or she has been called. Let us read 1 Corinthians 7:19-24 to have a solid understanding of this point:
Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters. Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called. Were you called while a slave? Do not be concerned about it; but if you can be made free, rather use it. For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord's freedman. Likewise he who is called while free is Christ's slave. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men. Brethren, let each one remain with God in that state in which he was called.
1 Corinthians 7:19-24
The foregoing scripture serves to tell wives and husbands that no one is better than the other and none is put at a greater advantage compared with the other by the commands that God has given to each one. Each one has a designated role and no one’s role is inferior to the other. It makes clear that obedience to God’s commandments is the important thing that each one should focus upon. Each one should recognize his or her role, accept it and abide in it. In addition, each one should therefore, do what God has commanded. Obedience to what God has commanded by each one would produce the results that God intended and designed to be present in such relationships.
