A Perpetual Indebtedness
Having enjoyed the show of love from his master, the forgiven servant in Matthew 18:32 had become indebted to show the same love in forgiveness toward others, especially his fellow servant. This is the same way that husbands must understand that we are indebted to our wives to love them always. The love that God showed us, that we did not reject but wholeheartedly embraced through Jesus Christ, made us indebted to our wives to show them the same love.
This indebtedness is perpetual and requires that we service the debt daily. Until we depart this world we will never be free from the debt except and until we fulfill the requirement daily. The scripture says in Romans 13:8 that we owe ‘love’ to every man. This is one debt that no husband who is desirous to please God can escape from. This is one debt that every husband must be conscious to service daily. The commandment to love our wives
