The Man In Love
of God occasioned by His Spirit will give beauty in the place of ashes and the oil of joy in the place of mourning.
The glorious transformation that takes place in the life of our wives as we treat them to the love of God is expected to serve as evidence of our love for them and also evidence of our status as disciples of Jesus Christ. The existence of love between husband and wife represents an opportunity to showcase Christ in our lives and also evangelize for Him. John 13:35 says that by our love for one another men will know that we are disciples. That means, if we do our job of loving our wives well, men must take notice of, and be drawn to Jesus in through our testimony of love.
The other indicator that we are walking in love toward our wives as husbands is our heart. According to 1 John 3:19-21, we will know if we are walking in ‘true’ love if our heart does not condemn us. If our heart condemns us then we are not walking in love.
For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment:
