Take Heed To Your Choice Of Wife
Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.
2 John 1:9-11
This scripture warns husbands to be wary of who they choose as their wives. The scripture says that we must not receive into our houses those who do not abide in and bring the doctrine of Christ. The doctrine of Christ is the doctrine of love. Whoever does not subscribe to the commandment to love one another should not become a wife to a husband who subscribes. The husband is commanded not to bring such a woman into his house. In 1 Corinthians 16:22, such a woman is to be treated as “Anathema Maranatha,” meaning the object of a curse.
