Balling on a budget is a philosophy he lives by. He can take a $12 jacket,

get it tailored, and kill the game when he steps into the arena and those

who listen can do the same, whether they’re at a job interview, pitching

an idea or meeting with a loan officer. That suit can be the conversation

starter and the door opener, just wear it with the same pride that Lyons

does.When I finally reached home, I re-evaluated all the pieces in my

closet. I felt the sudden need for everything I own to have a purpose. I

questioned how my clothes contributed to the goals I have set for

myself. I’m going to call that the Lyons’ effect. Anyone who makes you

reevaluate your goals for the better is one you should listen to. I moved

to Los Angeles and worked in a very competitive field. I’ve had so many

people point that out, that it’s hard to "make it,” as a writer.But not

everyone has the same definition of “making it” or success. It means

different things to different people. But those statements can cast

doubts, and those doubts turn into fear, the fear of failing. So Lyons

reminded me that fear stands for “false evidence appearing real,” and

fear will stop me from getting what I want. I took it to heart.
