Background

The Namibia School of Diplomatic Studies
is housed in the Faculty of Commerce,
Management and Law, and its operations
are overseen by the Joint Steering Committee
comprised of representatives drawn from
both Ministry of International Relations and
Cooperation (MIRCO) and the University of
Namibia (UNAM).

It was conceived on the basis of an April 12,
2022 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
entered into, between the MIRCO acting for
the Government of the Republic of Namibia,
and UNAM. His Excellency Dr Nangolo
Mbumba, Vice President of the Republic of
Namibia officially launched this School on 22
February 2023.

To be a leading Regional and International
Training Centre of Excellence in Diplomacy
and International Relations

Mission
To equip foreign service officials and
practitioners, as well as students with critical skills,
and the capacity to address contemporary
domestic and global challenges.
