been verified by some of Dieter's ultra-right friends within the German authori-

                   ties.
She shakes her head in disbelief. "What could make Johan give up on us

here? He didn’t even mention anything! Not the slightest."

He quickly answers. "Unfortunately several things. One of them is Dieter's
insane persuasive abilities, another is infinite wealth and a third and probably

what has the most significance is to be allowed to lead the world's largest illegal

art ring. Power beyond what we know of. Dieter was also obsessed with the art-
trade, and has through the years collected an incredible amount of illegal art. He

pioneered it so to speak, in regards to Kräsen. I have a feeling that Gustav, as he
is now called, has been giving ownership of some of the world's greatest art

                   treasures.”

                          She nods, clearly still chocked.
”It sounds like Johan. He was already a huge art lover when we were to-

                   gether.”

Eagerly, Tom continues. “Gustav Kräsen rarely shows up anywhere. From
day one, he has managed to build an image where he has others to stand in as

representatives, making it look like they are in charge, but he’s still very much
behind it all. Everything around his person is almost hermetically sealed. There

are only a few photographs of him and we have strong suspicions that in order to

complete this identity shift, he must have undergone numerous facial surgeries.”
Tom sips the rest of his tea, which are now completely cold, before finally

commenting. “To be able to move on, it will be of great help with some more pho-

                   tographs of him.”
As they are talking, she has stacked a small pile of photographs and put them in

an envelope in front of him, she pushes it further across the table, indicating that

                   he should take it.
"Well, that was hair-raising to say the least. I want to wish you all the best

of luck with the hunt. I wouldn’t say I’m eager to learn more, when you have

                   news in this case."
15 minutes later he is again on his way back from the villa to his car. It is

dark and the snowfall is extremely heavy as it’s been the last long period. As he
starts to drive, he can only see a few meters in front of him. He drives past the
