Keynote Speaker
Dr. CARMEN GUEVARA NEUBERGER, B.S.
(University of Maryland) M.Ed., Ed.D. and J.D.
(American University), attended the College of the
Holy Spirit in Manila, Philippines, where she was born
and raised. She has over 30 years experience in higher
education, as Dean of Students and Vice President for
Student Affairs at American University and Dickinson
College, as Executive Director of a national student affairs
association, the American College Personnel Association
(ACPA) in Washington, D.C., and as Visiting Professor
in the Graduate School of Education and Human
Development at George Washington University. She was
a Founding Director for the Council for the Advancement
of Standards in Higher Education and serves on the
Boards of Trustees for the ACPA Foundation and Western
New England University in Springfield, MA. Carmen has served as Executive Search Consultant on
over a dozen executive searches for Greenwood/Asher and Associates for Presidents, Provosts, Deans of
Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Education, Research, and Advancement.
Carmen is the mother of five grown daughters: an engineering consultant, a business entrepreneur
- President of Resources for Responsible Management and Greenfield Environmental Trust, Inc.; an
attorney - General Counsel of Phoenix Children’s Hospital; a Public Relations Specialist; and an Artist/
Graduate Student in the Master of Fine Arts Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She is also the grandmother of seven.
