Dr. Jesusa M. Marco during her Commission on Higher Education (CHED)
inaugural speech

“Afire with the Spirit of Communion. This investiture is also a celebration of the
unwavering spirit of our alumnae who, during the most trying and turbulent times in the
history of this institution, held on to the belief that love will dominate the journey toward
the truth in the SSpS mission at CHSM. Albeit uncertain of what lies ahead, they were
armed with Faith and the firm belief that, together with the Sisters, they can recreate
CHSM’s future. Their faith led them to engage in a “communion in mission”. Thus, the
turbulent period served only to prove and reaffirm that the things that bind the members
of this community were far stronger than those that threatened to divide them. Today,
the increasing role of the lay in the management of the school through the AMC has been
set afire by this Spirit of Communion.” Dr. Jesusa M. Marco, September 13, 2016
