A. Preliminary Practice
Have you ever been embarrassed infront of your
friends or have you ever been in embarrassing situation?
In your everyday life you often find yourselves in
embarrassing situations. It needs correct expressions to say
your embarrassment. In order to show that kind of feeling,
we can use certain expressions of embarrassment.
In the following dialogue, you will see how they assert
the expression. The dialogue will be performed by Asriati
and Indahyani.
Asriati : Hi Indah, what happens? You look nervous.
Indahyani : It‟s nothing.
Asriati : Really? Your face tells me that something is going on.
Indahyani : Yes, you‟re right. Actually I‟ve had an embarrassing experience.
Asriati : What is it?
Indahyani : When I was on my way home, I saw an old lady trying to cross the street.
Asriati : Why didn‟t you help her to cross the street?
Indahyani : I did. I helped her to cross the street.
Asriati : That‟s great. So, why do you look nervous?
Indahyani : Actually, she didn‟t want to cross the street. She‟s just looking for her
shopping bag.
Asriati : Really? That must be embarrassing.
Indahyani : Certainly. I was very embarrassed.
Asriati : You shouldn‟t feel embarrassed. You did something good. Just take
