What could you say in expressing your annoyance for the following situations?

1. You are running for the bus but you just miss it.
2. Your sister often forgets to lock her front door. You go out for dinner with her one
evening, and then she suddenly realizes she‟s forgotten to lock her door yet again.
3. You‟re cleaning your house and you accidentally break a plate.
4. You smash a glass on the floor.
5. You find out that for the third time this week you train into work has been
cancelled. You‟re very cross.

Rehearsal Three

Study the following dialogue and then answer the questions. After that, act it out
with your classmate.

Deddy : Hi, Winda. What are you doing?
Winda : Hi. I‟m looking for Mr. Jusman. I need his signature for my
scholarship application.
Deddy : Do you get the scholarship?
Winda : Yes. After a long process of selection, the school decides to give me
and Nuraini the scholarship.
Deddy : Congratulations. You must be very happy.
Winda : Yes, I‟m very happy. But you know it makes me mad. I have to
submit all the documents today. The committee told me that
only this morning.

Deddy : I understand that‟s not easy. Anyway, what do you think of the
scholarship?
Winda : It really helps us. I‟m happy with this.
Deddy : I see. Do you know that the Chinese government will provide free
education for poor students?
Winda : Really? Never heard about that before.
Deddy : I think our government should also do the same. You know,
around 17% of Indonesian people are poor.
Winda : Many parents also think that it‟s better for their children to
work and earn money than to go to school. I think free education for
poor students could help poor people improve their life.
Deddy : Yes, you‟re right.
Winda : Oh, Mr Jusman is coming. I‟ve got to see him.
