People’s is FANatic About Reading
with the Newport Gulls
Recently, People’s employees (including our Mascot, Pudge) took to Cardines Field to volunteer
their time collecting tickets at the gates, handing out programs, foam fingers, rally towels, and
selling 50/50 raffle tickets in the stands. Andrew Costa, our Network Administrator, even sang
the National Anthem!
As part of our FANatic About Reading Program the Gulls players read to classroom students
around Aquidneck Island during the month of June. Gulls handed out bookmarks which were
used to encourage students to read four books and receive free admission to the game, have
special recognition on the field, and receive a complimentary book from People’s during the
pre-game ceremony.
Thank you to all of the students who read their books and came out to support the Gulls!!
