Venetia Van Buren
Accounting Coordinator Venetia Van Buren, 61, died of natural causes on Nov. 27. She began with the company in 1977 as a keypunch operator in the Gas Measurement Dept. in Dallas. She is survived by her husband, Jack. Van Buren played the trumpet and was a certified scuba diver. Her favorite movie was Tropic Thunder and she was a huge fan of Dwight Yoakam and David Bowie. An animal lover, Van Buren leaves behind two cats she loved, one cat she tolerated, and four beloved dogs. One of her cats came from Lincoln Centre.
“In June of 2017, I was outside by the Harvest Hill exit in Lincoln Centre III,” says Accountant Mary Lou DeAnda. “I hear a tiny meow and there is a black kitten with big green eyes. It’s a hot day and I know that tiny kitten will not survive by itself. I called Venetia and she rushes down from Lincoln Centre II. She puts the kitty in a box with holes in it and takes him home. She named him Harley. Venetia kept me updated with pictures. Harley grew to be a tall, beautiful, majestic cat. Venetia loved animals. May she
rest in peace.”
Stacy Blevins
Plant Control Specialist Stacy Blevins, 51, died Dec. 6 of COVID-19 complications in Henrietta, Texas. He is survived by his mother, Sharon; wife Gina; daughter, Brittney; son, Blake; three brothers and four grandchildren. Blevins coached his children’s sports teams as they were growing up and was a member of the Nine-Man Board that sponsors the annual parade and rodeo the third week in September in Henrietta. Blevins started his career with the company in 1991 and was a 29-year employee.
“Stacy was always doing things with his family,” said Storage and Compression Supervisor Kenny Covington. “He was a go-getter, busy from the time he woke up until he went to bed at night. I never heard him say a bad word about anybody and never heard anyone say a bad word about him. There are nine of us in our Storage and Compression group and we are all very close.
We lost a good friend and co-worker. Stacy was a great man.”
