chief responsibilities include helping to maintain quality assurance procedures for the
firm in order to build high quality into the construction design process and lessen the

has given him a unique understanding of the key considerations to look for during the
               QA process.

Bernardon’s Quality Assurance Program is has several parts and the final
review is an item-by-item, multi-step procedure of reviewing and checking the
documents. This process is performed on each element of the documents and
coordinated with all trades. Quality is managed through milestones identified Education
in the design process, allowing a thorough document review prior to issuing. Bachelor of Architecture,
Quality Control/Quality Assurance milestones include: Drexel University

The Quality Assurance Manager’s initial involvement begins by working with Certified Construction Documents
the design team at the schematic design phase. At this point, the initial design Technologist (CDT), Construction

are identified and performed by the project team under the review of the Quality Certified Accessibility Inspector/
                 Assurance Manager.
                                                                                          Plans Examiner, International
                                                                                          Code Council (ICC)
                 Design Development Review
The project design and production team, in conjunction with the Quality Assurance U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
Manager and the firm Principals, expand the scope of technical review to specific Construction Quality Management
materials and building systems planned for the project. Project-specific consultant for Contractors
coordination interface areas are identified and a process is developed to address
these issues during the course of construction document production.

                 Construction Document Review
During the Construction Documents phase, a full discipline project review is
undertaken. The interdisciplinary team approach verifies that the construction
plans and all aspects of technical development and specifications are on-track.
All interior and exterior materials and engineering systems are finalized by each
                 discipline.
