The intent was to refresh the look of the 110,000 SF shopping
center, which dates from the early to mid-1970’s, and create a
visibly higher profile. As most of the shopping center is lower
than busy West Chester Pike, the goal was to improve visibility
by physically increasing height and creating more visual interest
with variations in roof line and materials. Tenant storefront
windows were previously 7’ tall with a 2’ sill (about 5’ vertical
feet of glass). After the renovations, the top of glass is 9’-6”
and taken all the way down to the sidewalk where it was possible
to create a more open and inviting experience. Bernardon also
provided tenant fit out of a 4,732 SF space for the Pennsylvania
Liquor Control Board.
