Nature's Classroom Grows
Free school orchards sprout learning opportunities
“You cannot underestimate the positive effect of the
outdoors on our pupils. The traditional classroom
environment does not suit many of them and having
areas to take our students outside where they can learn, grow
and achieve is invaluable to not only them but us too”.
- Helene Henessy, Dylan Thomas Community School
Teacher
The Dylan Thomas Community School received a free School Orchards
package with Keep Wales Tidy’s Local Places for Nature scheme.
Their new orchard will be a space where everyone can come together to
enjoy nature activities, learn outdoors and have a quiet spot to relax.
