(c) The typical rainforest ecosystem is characterized by an enclosed canopy, high levels
of rainfall and high species diversity. Given that an estimated 50 per cent of terrestrial
biodiversity is found in rainforests, justify the need to conserve these rainforest ecosystems,
and evaluate the use of protected forests areas as a method of conservation.
