Useful Tips:
In conducting the Task Analysis and Criteria Development for the SBA, here are some
useful steps to follow.
1. List the correct sequence of the steps the students must carry out to perform the
specific the task.
2. Select from the list, steps which are appropriate for assessing students’
performance on a particular task.
3. Assign marks to each criterion according to the difficulty or complexity of the task.
Please Note:
1. The SBA should not be done under examination conditions as this
defeats the purpose of SBA (Do not use Paper 02 examination
questions, for example in History).
2. The criteria and mark scheme must be accessible to CXC®.
3. Marks should be submitted to CXC® based on the guidelines in the
syllabus.
