All Alone
There was not a living soul outside. “Oh,
mannnn!” I thought to myself. “I must be really
late.” I wondered if I should make it my business
to go into the principal, Miss Denelta Weekes,
and sincerely apologize for my tardiness.
However, as I approached the main entrance, the
office door was closed. I hustled upstairs to
inform my class teacher, Mrs Orletta O’Donoghue,
of the closed office and my reason for being late.
Surprisingly, my classroom door was locked.
My thoughts began to get the best of me.
Teacher Orletta was always punctual! Something
had to have gone wrong. I began to cry.
My thoughts got the best of me again. I hastily
ran down to the lower block of my school, a wave
of hope flushed over me as I saw Miss Shelly’s
classroom door opened. I shouted her name and
ran towards her.
“Teacher, where has everyone gone? Was there a
trip that I happened to miss?”
