their lawn with freshly baked cookies. John spent
a few days in the hospital while the social worker
completed the paperwork so that the rich couple
could foster him.
In the end, Mr Reds was sent to prison for a very
long time and John lived with his new parents.
Since Mr Reds’ arrest there were no more strange
noises echoing through the streets of South Hill,
only the sound of cars and people travelling to do
their business.
