If Covid was Really a Dream
In Grade 4, after receiving feedback from my
composition teacher who again described my
dream job as a doctor or nurse, I started to think
a lot about this idea.
A few months later, my classmates and I were
walking home after a very long and tiring school
day when we overheard an older group of
students talking about a deadly disease called
COVID-19. The most I heard was that it was
spreading very quickly and had already killed
thousands of people. I paused for a while and
thought it had to be a rumour.
When I got home and told my mom about the
conversation I had overheard, unfortunately, she
told me that it was true. We sat to read a few
articles about it, then we had dinner. Later that
night, we waited up for a news report from the
Prime Minister and health team of my country.
However, I was over exhausted and the news
report took some time; so, I fell asleep.
