It will be seen that for the year 1356 an increase of one lakh in the
collections was anticipated. The actual collections, in comparison with the Budget

After allowing for the increase in budgetting, the above figure may be
regarded as an unusually marked improvement in trading, the causes of which will
appear later; and a comparison in actual receipts during the past two years should
further illustrate the position.
