THE SCHOOL MEDICAL SERVICES
The School Medical Services have been in the charge of Dr. Muir-Leach since the opening
of the Winter Term. The full time staff has consisted of Dr. Muir-Leach and three fully trained
nurses.
904 Vaccinations were performed in the period from October to December.
2,383 Doctor’s examinations were made.
Complete medical examinations were carried out on 439 children.
4,719 Treatments were done by nurses.
Clinics were established at Manama (2Jahara school) and Muharraq (Kubra school).
Girls requiring special medical examination by doctors are seen either at the Town clinic
near their school at special sessions of their school only, or at their own school, i,c., Hedd,
Rifaa, East, West, South and North School, lyluharraq, at least once a week.
Nurses (either 1 or 2) attend clinics or outside schools, for simple dressings and treatments,
when possible on two days a week, separate from doctors' visits.
