Tho rate of freight was about £5-13-0 per ton to Bombay and Karachi by
the British India steamers.
The number of steamers and sailing, vessels which entered and cleared this
port in the year arc given in the attached shipping returns.

Transport.
Tho following were tho rates of transport during the year:—
For Zilfi, Buraidah, 'Anaizah, and Qasim £1 to .Gl-G-8 per mann of
27 waqiyahs=121 J ibs.
For Shagra, Sadair and Mahraal £0-18-8 to £1-5-1 per mann of 27
waqiyahs=121J lbs,
