Following tho Hotico, No. 16/1956 da tod. 16 th March 1956,
published by the Government on the Bahrain Broadcasting
Station that an enquiry will be held about the recent
disturbances in Bahrain by Mr, G.L. Peace, the Judicial
Advisor, and Mr. W.P.K. Mawdsloy, the Assistant Judge for
II. M, ' o Court for Bahrain, 111o Highness has issued the
following instructions: -
"Tho board will enquire into and report on the serlea
of incidento involving disturbances of the ponce which have
taken place in Bahrain between 2nd March and 16th March 1956;
inclusive, and will particularly investigate:-
(a) The disturbance at and near the Municipal Offices,
Manama, on March 11.
(b) The disturbances at Muharraq on March 2/3.
The board may call before it such witnesses as they may
desire to hear and will forward their report to the Government
of Bahrain with any observations they care to melee."
In conformity with thio instruction all persons having
knowleiV e of any of the events referred to and desiring to
give evidence before tho board are requested to send their
names and addresses in writing to the Judicial Adviser at the
Bahrain Law Courts on or before Sunday 25th March 1956.
Such persons will in due course be invited to attend
before tho board on a given date. The board will sit in
public at the Bab-al-Bahrain building and tho date and time
ol* tho first sitting' v/ill bo announced in the course of the
next few days.
