Nor shall it in any event detract from any rights provided for in the
existing concession agreements concluded between the Government of
Kuwait and the oil companies operating in the territory of Kuwait, or the
partitioned Zone, or the offshore areas of cither, particularly in so far as the
areas of these concessions as defined in the aforementioned agreements arc
concerned.
Article 6
Nothing in the provisions of this Decree shall be deemed to affect the
rights of the State of Kuwait in the Zone contiguous to its territorial sea.
which shall be delimited at a later date, or in so far as they concern the
development of fishing resources.
Article 7
The President of the Council of Ministers and the Ministers, each
according to his competence, shall carry out the provisions of this Decree
which shall come into force as of the date of its publication in the Official
Gazette.

Supplementary Decree Concerning the Territorial Sea of the
Amirate of Sharjah and its Dependencies.
5 April 1970
This Decree supplements our Decree of IOth September 1969, in which
we recorded and confirmed our sovereign rights in the territorial sea of the
Amirate of Sharjah and its Dependencies, including its islands.
Article I
The territorial sea of the Amirate of Sharjah and its Dependencies
extends into the open sea to a distance of twelve nautical miles from the
base lines on the coasts of the mainland and of the islands of the Amirate.
