Appointment*. 33. On a supposition that Messieurs Lystor and Bawyear (who we hear
were on board the Defiance) are unhappily lost we have appointed MV. John
Beaumont to succeed the former at your place who with William
Lewis likewise appointed to the assistance of your place, now proceed having
received their salary to the 2?? instant and diet for last month; but should
M^Lyster contrary to expectation be saved, even in that case Mr Beaumont is
to remain as Mr-Lystcr must agreeable to the Honorable Companys Commands

Resident at Busbire in the room of MTrWilliam Bowyear, and we have joined
with him Mr. George Green who will embark upon the Essue. Messieurs

34. Inclosed is copy of such paragraphs of our Honourable Masters com
mands of the April last, as relate to your settlement to which a due
obedience must be shown, you will in consequence advise those who have
claims on the Estate of Martin Drench to make application to the Honourable
Company in England, such paragraphs as you may judge it necessary for the
Factors at Bushire to be made acquainted with you will of course transmit
copy.

37. In the treaty with Carim Caun it must bo stipulated in general terms
that our Honorable Masters are to have the exclusive right to the trade in his
Dominions,without particularly naming any other Europeans whatever.
