                  27.  In June 1937, during the period of indecision following the death
                      of the ruler of Kalba, whose son was only seven years old, Sultan
                     bin Salim ignored the Political Resident’s warning to the Trucial shaykhs
                      that they should not interfere, and went to Kalba. There he got
                     into difficulties with the people, and had to be taken away by sloop
                      to Bahrain, where he was suitably housed but not allowed to receive
                      visitors. A few days later he was given permission to go home. See
