Rj 1511 Bus hire, Political Residency
The records of the Persian Gulf Residency at Bushire cover the
period 1763-1948. They were deposited with the India Office Library
and Records in 1957-65 and include correspondence between the
Resident and the Political Agents in the Gulf; the Government
of India; various Departments of the British Government; the Air
Officer Commanding, Iraq; the Senior Naval Officer Persian Gulf
Division; the British Minister in Tehran; the High Commission
in Baghdad; local rulers and notables; the Residency Agent at
Sharjah; and various oil companies.
For the period covered in this study these records were organised
into subject files. General subjects have a number, and a second
number indicates the specific topic within that general subject.
The files also include internal minutes, which can be found at
the end of each volume.
