globe which the presence of the Deity has
hallowed once and for ever, I feel I am at
least near it; and few, I think, who gaze
from its fearful height upon the dreary
wilderness below, will fail to be impressed
with the fitness of the whole scene for the
sublime and awful dispensation which an
almost universal tradition declares to have
been revealed there.
